I’m getting quite fond of Cloud Formation. It’s quite powerful and allows you to spin a complex work environment in seconds. Unfortunately the knowledge you need to properly use it is high. This is to be expected as it gives you access to almost all of the AWS environment resources in a programmatic fashion. To get “good” at Cloud Formation, you need to read a lot of reference documents. This will help but most of the time your best bet is to find usage samples on the web. With this in mind, the template defined here shows you how to create a proper Cognito environment. I learned a lot from reading it.
